Market Moves: Brokers most active in recruitment as insurers make few changes - Postonline

A busy week in the recruitment arena saw brokers Bluefin, Oxford and Perkins Slade
among the most active companies, while Travelers and BLP Insurance were among
the few insurers to announce appointments. Law firm Keoghs also named three new
senior technical experts, while loss adjuster Criterion introduced two new members of


In the boardroom, housing warranty insurance provider BLP Insurance made two appointments to its board. Bob Grainger, a director of BLP Insurance since 2007 has been appointed chairman. He has worked for BLP's parent company Thomas Miller Group, for nearly 20 years. Grainger was appointed as Thomas Miller's group chief operating officer in 2004 and since 2010 he has focused his attention specifically on property and a number of other areas of risk management. Richard Saxon, an architect, has been appointed non-executive director. In 2001, Saxon was awarded a CBE for services to architecture and construction in recognition of his work for the modernisation of the industry, and he is former chairman of one of the UK's largest
firm of architects, designers and engineers, BDP.
