Linda Kitson: iPad Drawings exhibition launch

  • Location: The City Centre, London
  • Date: 17/05/2018
  • Time: 18:00 - 20:00

Description

The City Centre in partnership with The City of London Corporation are organising this invitation only event which will celebrate the official launch and private view of Linda Kitson: iPad Drawings. BLP is delighted to be a Learning Partner of this exhibition.

This is the first time that this work has been exhibited and follows a significant amount of press attention for Linda’s work over the last twelve months. A selection of up to 50 works will be displayed in full colour throughout The City Centre gallery. As these iPad drawings are intended to be seen backlit, bespoke lightboxes will be designed and made to display 18 of the core works. An additional 20 - 30 preparatory works will be displayed alongside the lightboxes in print form.

The show will explore the development of key sites across the eastern cluster and will include locations such as Bishopsgate, Leadenhall, Liverpool Street, Lime Street, St Mary Axe and Broadgate.

Kim Vernau, CEO of BLP Insurance, Partner and Learning Partner for the Summer Academy at The City Centre, said: “We are very pleased to be supporting this exhibition which provides an inspiring way for people to engage with the buildings of the past, present and future reflecting the evolution in architectural design. The City is undergoing fundamental architectural change. It’s important to encourage the public’s involvement and understanding of how it’s evolving, the manner in which new construction projects deliver in accordance with the official architectural model together with the structures where people will live and work in the decades to come.”
