Coronavirus COVID-19 UPDATE
UPDATE 3rd June 2020
Further to the easing of the lockdown restrictions recently announced by the UK Government, BLP has carried out a comprehensive review of the guidance published by the Construction Leadership Council, UK Gov and MHCLG in conjunction with the HBF in regards to COVID Secure standards and safe working practices on site. From today BLP will start to resume on site audits at key stages or cycles where projects confirm and demonstrate they are COVID Secure to a recognised standard, and where they can be safely accessed by the audit team. The audit team have been provided with extensive guidance for safe working and a travel protocol.
Sites and projects that are unable to confirm they operate to COVID Secure recognised standards or those outside of our safe travel protocol will continue with remote audits until further notice. Additionally further local or regional lockdowns and any continuing restrictions will be respected and BLP will continue with remote audits.
In order to maintain social distancing measures, all client and site meetings, except the site audit will continue to be facilitated using phone or video conference applications.
This position will be monitored and reviewed with updates provided as required.
The office remains closed and BLP continues to operate in a remote capacity providing client and business continuity. All email and phone enquiries continue to be monitored daily and a member of the team will be in contact to action requests as required.
UPDATE 11th May 2020
BLP remains working remotely with all teams fully contactable by phone and email to provide client, broker and business continuity.
We continue to operate a remote audit process to support the provision of the insurance, following the current guidance published by the Construction Leadership Council, which has strict protocols around safe on site working, but stops non essential visitors attending site. We also consider the current position of the MHCLG to be relevant to our role, encouraging remote inspections. Updated guidance will be reviewed and any changes to the audit process will be implemented.
UPDATE 21st April 2020
BLP continues to be fully operational remotely to ensure client and business continuity. Email and phone enquiries continue to be monitored daily and a member of the team will be in contact to action requests as required.
UPDATE 24th March 2020
In response to the latest Government advice and to minimise the potential impact of the current outbreak of COVID-19 on our employees, BLP has invoked a remote working policy for all office based staff as of 17th March 2020 until further notice.
Additionally from 24th March 2020 attendance by the Technical Consultants at all active sites has been suspended; your Technical Consultant will be in contact regarding continuity during this period.
All teams and functions have tested this protocol, however with teams not being face to face there could a short delay in responding to email and phone enquiries, the email@example.com and BLPCode@blpinsurance.com email groups will continue to be monitored daily.
During this period of remote working we are only able to issue documents electronically.
Our teams will be available Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm, excluding Bank Holidays.
